Cooling
During the summer, ClimateMaster geothermal cooling systems absorb heat from your home and transfers it to the underground loop where it is then absorbed by the cooler earth. The geothermal heat pump uses the cool water returning from the ground to create cool, dehumidified air conditioning for your home.
Heating
During the winter, ClimateMaster geothermal heating systems absorb heat stored in the ground through the water that circulates in its underground loop. This heat is carried to the ground source heat pumps where it’s concentrated and then sent as warm, comfortable air throughout your home.
Our Services
New York Geothermal Supply is a premier leader in providing geothermal systems and design.
Dona Kyler, the President of New York Geothermal Supply, Inc., employed her husband Kris Kyler (President of Indiana Geothermal – one of the few Certified GeoExchange Designers (CGD) in the Midwest) to assist in the expansion of the New York market. Because of their extensive Geothermal background and experince, she believes that they have a distinct advantage over their competitors.
New York Geothermal Supply has the correct tools and contacts to get the systems designed, drawn, and installed correctly the first time.

Understanding Geothermal Loops
A ground loop is a series of pipes buried underground at a depth where temperatures stay consistent year-round. It serves as the critical link allowing geothermal heat pumps to use the earth as a heat source or heat sink, depending on if heating or cooling is required.
Just a few feet below the ground’s surface, the earth maintains a steady 50-55 degrees no matter what the temperature of the outside air. This difference in temperature allows the earth to act as a heat source in winter and a heat sink in summer. A geothermal heat pump (located inside the home) captures this energy by circulating thermally conductive fluid through the buried ground loop.
In winter, the fluid absorbs heat from the warmer earth and carries it into the heat pump, where it enters a heat exchanger and is used to warm your home.
In summer, the process is reversed when the home’s heat is captured and released into the cooler ground, leaving your home comfortably air-conditioned.
Vertical Loops – Vertical loops are used extensively where the land area is limited or soil conditions prohibit digging more economical horizontal loops. A pair of pipes with a special U-bend assembly at the bottom is inserted into a bored hole that averages between 150 to 250 feet deep per ton of equipment. These holes are then back filled with a special grout solution to ensure good contact with the earth.
Horizontal Loops – Horizontal loops are installed in areas where soil conditions permit economical excavation. They do take up more land area than any other loop type, so they are used only were space permits. Trenches are normally about five feet deep with multiple pipes placed in the trench at different depths. Normally several hundred feet of trench is required, but where space permits these loops are considered desirable.
Horizontal Bore Loops – Our horizontal bore allows you to install geothermal ground loops with minimal digging and destruction to you or your customers lawn. These loops reduce ground settling and lawn discoloration caused by digging loops. You can bore under crawl spaces or driveways.
Pond Loops – Usually very economical to install. If a pond or lake at least eight feet deep is available, pond loops can utilize the water (rather than soil) to transfer heat to and from the pond. A coiled pipe is placed in the water, which should cover about a half an acre. An average home would require about 900 feet of pipe. Reduced installation costs and high performance are characteristic of this type of loop.
Open / Well Water Loops – A well-based (or ground-source) open-loop system typically uses a single well and pump to bring water to the surface, where it passes through a heat pump to provide warm air to your facility. Once the pump extracts heat from the water, it can then be discharged to the surface or used elsewhere. This latter option can provide an opportunity for further efficiency gains for your home or business.
